Duane got baptized September 7th, 2008
I never thought it would happen. I really didn't. But I am sure glad that he did! Last Sunday, Sept.14th, 2008, he was ordained a priest in to the Aaronic priesthood. This has been such a wonderful experience for our family. His baptism was very special. The spirit was so strong, that my whole body felt like I was floating on air. Lots of people came to watch Duane get baptize. He was also given the Gift Of The Holy Ghost too and confirmed a member of the church. Duane received a precious gift on his birthday! Yes, Duane was baptized and confirmed on his birthday! How awesome is that?! Like he says, "It's like being born again." I couldn't be more proud of my husband for making choices that will make us a eternal family. I waited 13 years for this to happen, hoping that Duane would see the joy and happiness of living the Gospel standards. I know he was touched by the spirit to have a change of heart. I have such a deep respect for converts in the church. They live their lives one way going about their business until one day they meet a friend who is LDS or 2 missionaries that teach them the Gospel. all of a sudden, they are touched by the same spirit that touched Duane's heart and they too, have a change of heart. These people change their way of living by taking a huge leap of faith and choose to live righteously by getting baptized and following God's commandments. I am amazed by this in such a way because I have seen this happen to my husband. The Lord works in wondrous ways. My testimony grew as I learned that Heavenly Father truly does love His children and wants to bless them. I have felt what it is like to long suffer for someone who is dear to you. Duane and I went thru so much pain and tribulations and yet, we survived and made it. Heavenly Father knew how special Duane is and He gave me strength to carry on when I didn't think I could handle any more. We have been truly blessed by a loving, merciful, and forgiving Heavenly Father!
